Password protecting shared folders

In WIN 98, it was very easy to set up a password for a
directory that was going to be shared across a network--
just choose password protection when you enabled sharing.
This isn't available in WIN XP. Does anyone have an easy
way to allow folders to be shared in a simlar way that 98
allowed? I want to get access across our network to a
directory on a users local drive, but want that folder to
be password protected so not everyone has access.

Thanks.

That's because in XP all programs and shares run in the context of a some
user. If you want to share a folder over the net, create a user with a
password and give that user access to the folder by clicking on the using
the sharing tab in its properties.
