password not remembered

Windows will not remember FP password

I'm using XP Pro with FP2003. Whenever I go to publish the login box appears
with the username filled in, but the password box is blank. I enter the
password and check the box for the password to be remembered. The publishing
is successful and I exit FP. The next time I go to publish, the password box
is blank again.

Any suggestions?

Try in windows explorer deleting all *.web files and the network places link to the site,
then in FP File Publish Site and enter your url

Hi Jim,

Some server systems will not store the password and require that it be
reentered each time -- security feature :>)

Thanks, but this doesn't work

I deleted all the *.web files and links. Still does not work. I'm running
FP2002 on XP pro at work and it saves the password all the time. The login
box comes up with the username and password filled out - all I need to do is
click OK.

My laptop is running FP2003 on XP home. The login box only fills in the user
with the password box blank. Also there is no checkbox on this to Remember
My Password. Is this because it is XP Home?

Any other suggestions?

I don't think that is the case. When I publish from my other computer it
retains the password and at login I only have to click OK. This computer is
running FP2002 and XP Pro.

In IE do you also have the Content Tab Auto complete set to remember passwords
