Partitioned space missing.

My friend recently re instsalled windows XP home. He installed this on
one hard drive and already had some hard drives partitioned.
Specifically he has a 200gb hdd that is partitioned in to 100gb each.
The second 100gb partition used to have 60 gb of data on it and now it
is only reporting the free space of 30gb. So I was just wondering where
this space went? He installed service pack 2, and it was working before
when he had windows xp home working.

Thanks

One of these tools will show him what's eating up his disk space:
DriveUse:
http://members.ozemail.com.au/~nulifetv/freezip/freeware/index.html
Bullet Proof Folder sizes: http://www.foldersizes.com/

Keep in mind that if he has a 100 GByte partition and uses 60 GBytes
for his data then I would expect 40 GBytes of free space which is not
a long way from 30 GBytes.

If xp was installed on it,10 gb would/could have been used for the OS.Also,
in my computer,R.click on the hd,select properties, see whats taken place in
space usage.
