partition help!

Hi there,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but
I've inherited a laptop that had partitions set: C; drive
at 1.9 gig and d: drive at 9 gigs. I would like to create
more space on the c drive, taken from the d drive. I'm not
overly technical, so I was wondering if anyone knows a way
to do this without using dos commands? I would really
appreciate if anyone can point me in the right direction.
I've been trying to do this for weeks now! THanks

Not really the right place to talk about this...hard to say where a better
place would be though...

At any rate, I don't think Windows allows you to repartition drives using
the UI, unless you have your drives set up as dynamic, simple volumes (most
likely not, as this is not the default for Windows 2000, or any version of
Windows I'm familiar with). Your best bet would be to acquire a recent
version of Partition Magic (it's pretty slick and simple to use, at not that
overly expensive either if you need to purchase it).
