Partition and game perfomace

HI, can I improve the performance of Fs2004 if i crate a separate partition
for this game ? P4, 2.4, 1 Go RAM, ATI 9600, XP home NTFS. Thanks ! Pierre

Hi PBoucher,

That's the method I use, but not for performance per
se, rather I keep Windows on it's own partition so I
can easily backup that partition. It takes only 2 min's
to go from dead to fully restored using Norton's Ghost.

You can marginally improve performance by having
Windows, games, applications and your virtual swap
file on separate partitions, however the ideal situation
would be to have your games and swap file on a
separate hard drive altogether. That will allow your
system to read and write simultaneously, and help
prevent fragmentation. I hope this helps! :)
