FS2004 and Links LS 2003 prolem

Aron

When I installed FS2004, I initially had a problem -
which was corrected by updating the drivers for my ATI
Radeon 9700 Pro to the latest. FS2004 runs flawlessly
now and with great frame rates. However, now my Links LS
2003 causes a hard lockup of my machine shortly after
staring a round of golf and when this happens the sound
is corrupted and repeats or crackles.

Here's the interesting thing. If I go back to the
previous ATI video card drivers, Links LS 2003 plays fine
but then I can't play FS2004. I have installed all
latest audio drivers, Links LS 2003 patches, etc.

It appears that I can have one or the other of the games
working, by using either the newest or the previous
drivers, depending upon which game, but can't have both
work with the same set of video drivers.

Anyone have a solution to this?

Thanks,

Aron

Hi Aaron,

Try the 45.24 drivers: http://download.guru3d.com/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=655

Jimmy,

Can't do that, because I am using an ATI video card and
the 45.24 drivers are for Nvidia cards.

Hi Aron,

I don't know how I missed that! What may work is using
two separate hardware profiles. I'm not certain, but it's
possible that one profile can use the older ATI drivers, and
the other use the newer ones. You can choose which of the
two profiles you want to use at startup.

You can copy your existing hardware profile in Control Panel
/ System / Hardware / Hardware Profiles... area to get started.
