Parity check problem

Hi all,

This "ICL 5750" laptop/notebook throws out the following
message:

<quote>
NMI: Parity Check/Memory Parity Error
The system has halted.
</quote>

That's if and when it got as far as loading windows (2k).
If prior to booting windows, bios will just halt and display
"Parity check 1".

I swopped out the single 64m RAM chip with a known
working one - no difference. I've also tested that RAM
chip in a different machine - it's fine.

Can anyone advise as to what else the problem might be ?

TIA
jona.

DOUGAL

Had the same problem Saturday.
One of the memory chips on the graphics card had gone bad.
