Parallel Scanner on Xp

I want to upgraade to Windows Xp but can't get Xp to find
my Visioneer Paperport One Touch scanner. It is not USB
but parallel only. HELP!

I don't think you're going to have much luck here since parallel is a legacy
connection type as far as scanners are concerned.

I do not think Visioneer made any XP drivers for their parallel devices. But
I think you can use the Windows NT 2000 driver (if they made one). I don't
think you can use any Win9x drivers on XP.

Good news, bad news.

The bad news is that you now a Visioneer Paperport One Touch
Paperweight. It's not longer a scanner.

The good news is that for about $50, you can buy a scanner that WILL
work in XP, and is much better than the aforementioned paperweight.

I've got a Microteck parallel port scanner and it works under XP
pro. YMMV.

My old Canon FB620P parallel scanner works fine with XP Pro, after I
downloaded updated software/drivers from Canon. I will work on the
parallel port or the additional parallel card I installed.
