Paint program sucks

I have a hard time accomplishing anything useful with the Paint program that
comes with XP. For instance, if you want to crop a photo, the good part had
better be on the left half of the photo, because you can only crop from the
right!
Is there a free download that is better than Paint?
Is there a cheap program that is much better than paint?

Then don't use "paint" - this program has been around since before "digital"
photography existed.

The Gimp is excellent and has as version for Windows. I've never used it
on Windows so I can't speak for its stability on that platform, but it
is a really good program.

Other than that, Googling using the search term, "free paint software"
will get you nearly 4 million hits.

Try paint.net. just released by college students in Washington State
with MS support. MS Paint on steroids.

Yes, that works most of the time, but sometimes reversing is not
appropriate!

I'll check this out, and the others too. Thank you all.
