Paging file issues/ System Restore

last night as i was restarting my labtop i got a message informing me that i
have no paging file or paging file is too small, i click ok and my system
comes up, i try to use system restore to fix the issue, i get another message
saying system restore is not able to protect your computer. Any suggestions
on how i fix this issue, i'm running Win. XP PRO, on a dell latitude d505,
intel(R)Pentium(R)M, Processor 1500MHz, 1.50GHz, 512 MB of RAM. Thanks for
your Support.

R.click my computer,properties,advanced,virtual memory,change button,select:
"let system manage" click set 2X,close out.A restart will be prompted if done
correctly.Also,increase the ram memory,will increase paging file + system
memory.

Hi,

Let Windows manage the virtual memory.
Right clicking on My Computer - Properties - Advanced Tab -
Performance - Settings - Advanced Tab - Change, and select System
Managed Size. Click Ok until all dialog boxes are closed and reboot the
system.

That reply proves once again that you have absolutely no understanding
of Windows Memory Management.

Please refrain from posting replies to subjects that you have no
knowledge of.

This could be a file permissions issue. See the following article in
the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
