Pages will not load

Hello....I am using an old computer but it has an up to date version of
Internet Explorer...It is internet explorer 6 sp1. I cannot get webpages to
load completely...When I go to webpages the status bar hangs at about halfway
and never completes and pictures will not show up for links...etc....I have
to guess what the links are and hope I am clicking the right thing...I
downloaded Mozilla Firefox and everything works perfectly with it....I have
tried changing different setting in internet explorer...changed everything
back to default... tried to repair the program....even tried to reinstall but
nothing seems to work....any help will be appreciated.

P.S. I just downloaded sp1...before it was just internet explorer 6...I was
thinking this would help but still the same problem.

And I have alos did the hosts thing too as well as scanned for spyware..etc.
