First, tell us about the version of IE is it 6 or 7?.
Did you run a scan for malwares and Viruses by whichever software you have?.
What the AVG did find, it will make easier to mention.
do you get any ware on the net or you can't open any page at all?.
What connection you have and are you connected to the Internet (i.e. have
activities on the Modem, router) and do you get e-mail or able to retrieve
e-mails if you are using Outlook?.
Try to repair/reinstall the Internet Explorer from the Add/Remove programs
in the control Panel and Reboot then try to connect.
The regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll not cryptdig.dll.
Run the System file checker command to repair whichever component broke or
missing, by opening a run command and type in:
sfc /scannow click [OK] and wait for it to finish.
HTH.

Hi Brenda,
Here is the Correct Link for Lavasoft:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
Download it and get the latest definitions for both Lavasoft and Spybot and
perform a full scan.
When you said AVG found some stuff, what is it?.
And did you Reregister the DLLs and Disabled the Add-Ons?.
If so, try to Run the System File Checker (SFC) on your system to repair any
damaged core system file.
Open My Computer by double clicking it and select your Partition or Drive
(C:\) and Right click it then select Properties from the drop down list.
On the system/ Drive C:\ properties click on Disk cleanup and be sure all
check boxes are checked on the cleanup pop-up window and click [OK] to
cleanup.
To do that do the following:
Open a Run Command and type in:
sfc /scannow click [OK] and get your XP CD handy to insert it in if the
system/windows prompt you to do so and wait for it, it will take a while so
get yourself comfy.
HTH.
Let us know.

Okay Brenda,
Well as Suasma mentioned clear your caches and delete all cookies to do that
follow these steps:
1- Click Start >> Control Pane >> Network and Internet Connections >>
Internet Options.
On the IE Properties window under General Tab click clear History, click
delete Internet Files and delete cookies.
2- Click on Advanced Tab scroll down under this Option;
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser Extensions (Req Rest) Uncheck this box
3- click on Programs Tab, then on Manage Add-Ons and Disable Non-verified
Add-Ons ( if you saw an Add-Ons for Java try to update it or leave it
enabled).
4- Click Apply then click [OK]
Try to scan for malwares, yes you did scan but for Viruses with AVG try to
download these utilities from here:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com
http://www.safer-networking.org
Then Open a command Run and type in:
regsvr32 mshtml.dll click [OK]
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 shell32.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
netsh winsock reset
Be aware the space between the regsvr32_the. DLL , enter each command and
click [OK].
After reregistering the DLLs Reboot your machine and try the site.
HTH.
Let us know.
