I have two computers that are identical in hardware. They both have Windows
XP Pro and initially were loaded with the same exact software and have been
maintained with all of the Windows Updates. Both computers have IE version:
6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633
Computer A now has a problem where if the user clicks the back button or
forward button on pages with forms (http or https) they receive a message:
==Warning: Page has Expired
==The page you requested was created using information you submitted in a
form.
==This page is no longer available. As a security precaution, Internet
Explorer
==does not automatically resubmit your information for you.
==To resubmit your information and view this Web page, click the Refresh
button.
If the Refresh button is clicked (and then Retry) then the page will be
shown. The user can navigate to other pages within that session and website,
going forward and back and never receive this message again. Opening a new
session of IE6 will resume the "Page has Expired" behavior, until the
refresh button is clicked again.
Computer B does not have this problem at all. It can navigate to the same
exact websites at the same time and not encounter this problem.
I've tried reinstalling IE6 and resetting the defaults on Computer A without
any luck. I've compared all of the settings under "Tools | Internet Options"
between the two computers and they are the same. Any thoughts other than
formatting the C: Drive and reinstalling Win XP...
