I have started getting this message when I shouldn't at Amazon.com:

-----------------------
Warning: Page has Expired The page you requested was created using
information you submitted in a form. This page is no longer available. As a
security precaution, Internet Explorer does not automatically resubmit your
information for you.

To resubmit your information and view this Web page, click the Refresh
button.

For instance, if I go to Amazon.com, search for "Microsoft", it will bring
up some books. I click on one of the books, and it shows it. Then I click
on "Back" and I get the error message. It only started happening recently.
Doing refresh does bring the page back, but I shouldn't have to do that.
How can I fix it?

This not any problem. Everyone experiences this as there is set a cookie for
your search subjects that was "Microsoft". If you try to go back, that is in
the webpage created by your interest for "Microsoft" won't be there for
security reasons(i.e., not to expose to others). You have re-submit your
request to build that page again.
You may not experience this everywhere cause those pages doesn't care much
for your privacy.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.

It happens no matter what I enter, "Microsoft" was just an example. It
didn't do that until recently. It is a significant problem because you do a
search and find many books, then you look at one, then you can't go back to
the list and pick the next one - you have to enter the search again, plus
remember which ones you have already looked at.

Hi Jud,
I also told "Microsoft" as an example. When you view one of your search
results you have a link above under the subject as "Others features by
Microsoft" where the word "Microsoft" has that link of the page created by
you for the search. You can click to go there but do not use back.

Thanks.

I'm still having the problem. I tried it on two other computers with IE6,
and they didn't have the problem. Also, Mozilla Firefox doesn't have the
problem on this computer. I wrote to Amazon about it, and they suggested
clearing the temp files, the cookies, etc. I did that and I also changed
the Internet Options/Temporary Internet Files, check for new versions of
stored pages, and it worked corectly - ONE TIME. Then the problem started
occuring again. I tried all four settings of that option, nothing worked.
Amazon said to write back if that didn't fix it, so I did. They didn't know
what could be causing the problem, and said that it must be in the browser.

So a different browser on this computer doesn't have the problem. IE6 on
two other computers don't have the problem. I think it must be because of
some setting or something. So what could be causing the problem?

(I'm using XP home, SP2, Microsoft Antispyware, and scanning for viruses
each week, with updated virus def files.)

And automatic updates are on too. I've looked for a download of IE6 SP2, to
see if reinstalling would fix the problem, but I couldn't find any download
of it except for the whole XP SP2 download.

I found this:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q183763/

which says to disable "Do not save encrypted files" or something similar.
That was checked, so I unchecked it. That didn't fix the problem, but then
I restored all of the advanced options to the default and that fixed the
problem!

Well, sorry for delaying. Glad to see your problem solved.

I don't know exactly which option it was, but it is fixed now. And I
haven't noticed any consequences of resetting the options to the default.
