Page Cannot Be Displayed

IE 6 SP2 displays “Page Cannot Be Displayed†98% of the time when clicking on
any Internet link/button.

1. I deleted IE Cookies, Files and History
2. Updated and ran Norton, Ad-Aware, CWShredder and Spybot (note: CWShedder
says unable to get updates, why?)
3. ISP (Comcast) recommends reinstall of IE. Is IE part of SP2? Can’t
reinstall SP2 because Windows Update page says I already have it. IE SP1
install program says "can’t install because of a later version" installed
(see #4 below).
4. The IE itself is not shown on Control Panel “Add/Remove Programs†but
the SP2 is. Do I uninstall SP2 then reload IE SP1?
5. Note: my IE home page loads O’K when opening but, can't move away from
that page. I can see Google Cached data.

Some sites like Microsoft work 50% of the time. I'm posting this message
while at work because machine at home is unusable and can’t post.

I'm having the same problem. Neither my computer nor my wife's will go much
beyond Google, MSN or Yahoo. If I refresh several times it will sometimes go
through. I spent 3 hours last night running all those spyware programs to no
avail. I wonder if this is some kind of new virus?

Kmmca,

Well whatever it is I got it. It seems to me that all my problems started
to happen when I loaded the spyware, Hmmm

Anyways, since nobody replied to my post I'm going to have to go the e-mail
MS support route. This machine is useless and I needed it.

I did repainted 5 times to get this screen (good idea). Cross my fingers
this message posts. I really need to know how to reinstall IE. Maybe my
spyware deleted a file. I can't even download my kids AOL

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
