Cannot delete a folder in Vista 32

Hi,
I have a directory on a Windows 2003 R2 SP2 x64 and on Vista that I
recovered from a damaged CD but now I can’t delete it the directory is called
Renamed.DNG (don’t ask why it has an extension). If you try and delete it in
Vista you get a dialog box saying “Item Not Found Could not find this item
This is no longer located in C:\whatever. Verify the item’s location and try
againâ€. Also if you do a properties on the folder on the Security Tab it
says “The requested security information is either unavailable or can’t be
displayedâ€
Any help on this would be fantastic cause this problem is driving me nuts
