Packaging Wizard

Alex

I would like to deploy my application with a run time
version of Access for those users who don't have ms
access install on their computers. (access 2003)

I found out that for this purpose I need:
1. The Packaging Wizard.
The packaging wizard is a part of Access Developer
Extensions. So I need:
2. Access Developer Extensions.
But Access Developer Extensions is a part of the Visual
Studio Tools. So I need
3. Visual Studio Tools.

So far we have:
The Packaging Wizard - Access Developer Extensions -
Visual Studio Tools

Can anybody give me a clean answer what do I need to buy
in order to be able to pack my applications with runtime
version of access?!?

THANK YOU!

It is confusing. What you want though is Visual Studio Tools for the
Microsoft Office System. Which is not the same as Visual Studio.

Tony,

I am just now setting up the Packaging Wizard (XP) and read your reply
above. Looked up your website which quotes under Access 2002 Runtime:

"Thus you will need to either include the following files with your
distribution set or depend on the user running Microsoft Office Update to
download these files.
The below Runtime Updates update the Access runtime on the client
workstations to the same level as corresponding Office XP Service Pack.
These do not update the runtime you, the developer, create on your own
system. These updates also do not update Jet. The Microsoft Office Update
did identify these as updates to be required."

Is this true? Surely MS would fix this or am I reading it incorrectly. Are
you saying that once we've used the packaging wizard to setup an
installation we have to additionally include the service packs to run on the
clients machine so that they have the latest patches? Surely once we
install the service packs on our development computer and run the packaging
wizard again, it should include the latest versions
