PAB will not save changes

I have checked a few different posts concerning this issue but there
were no resolutions or possible causes for this problem. Hopefully
someone out there has found a resolution to this problem. I have a
user using a PAB in Outlook 2000 and when we try and make a change to
an entry, hit apply, or ok and then go back in to the PAB to verify
the changes took, they are still set at what they were before the
changes were made? Is this due to PAB corruption and if so, is there
a utility to to repair it? Also, i have seen posts statying PAB's
have been replaced but for some of our users the search capabilities
within contacts in Outlook does not work the same as it does with a
PAB. If there is some setting i am missing to allow for the same
search capabilities i would be happy to move to contacts. Anyone
offer any help or insite on this issue. Thanks in advance.

Ditch the PAB. All address information for Outlook 2000 is kept in the
Contacts folder.

How can you get the same search functionality using the contacts
folder as was had in the PAB?

Never having used the PAB, I don't know what search functionality it had.
What does the search function in Outlook not do?

AO,
What Brian is referring to is the fact that the PAB was replaced by the
Outlook Address Book Service years ago. That now permits you simply to keep
all information in the Contacts Folder. The OAB handles all the lookup and
name resolution features.
So just migrate all your information to the Contacts Folder and add the
Outlook Address Book Service to your profile. Then ditch the PAB. More
detailed instructions here:
