I've just ordered a new 3.06 P4 for my P4T533-C board. I use that
computer mainly for music applications (Cubase). How can I disable
hyperthreading? Thanks.

The manual says a hyper-threading control item shows up in
the Advanced menu, only when a HT processor is installed.
You would enter the BIOS after installing the new processor
and do your Disabling then.

Check here, for any special requirements for the combination of
motherboard and processor:

http://www.asus.com.tw/support/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx

P4-3.06 GHz(533 MHz FSB) (HyperThreading)
Board revision >= 1.03
BIOS Revision >= 1008

If the BIOS needs to be upgraded, you can do that with your
current processor and a BIOS file from the download page.

You can disable it, but there really is no reason to do so. It won't
have an adverse impact on software that doesn't use it.
