P4S800D-E Deluxe

Hi to all in this NG.
I have a P4S800D-E Deluxe motherboard running windows XP Pro 120gig sata
hard drive - Sony DVD 8x writer Intel Celeron 2.6 gig processor, Built it
two weeks ago, Problem that I am experiencing is that when I go to shut down
(start/shut down) it gets right to the last screen before it actually shuts
off and hangs, (turn power off and when restarts it does not ask for disc
check). any help would be great.

Am using same mobo, HDD and OS. Initially shutdown was quick, but after
adding more HW and SW the last of the light blue shutdown screens remains
for about 30 seconds before the system powers off. Was not able to identify
the root cause so far. If you google "slow XP shutdown" you will see that
some people are experiencing shutdown delays of several minutes.
