P4PE does not register PS/2 keyboard

My P4PE motherboard does not register a PS/2 terminated keyboard. This
occurs when plugging it into the female PS/2 plug on the motherboard. This
also occurs when plugging the keyboard's male PS/2 plug into an adapter plug
(female PS/2 to male USB) and then plugging the adapter plug into any USB
female plug on the motherboard.

Can this be remedied with a software fix from Asus or is this a BIOS
problem? Any ideas where to whom to contact?

Thanks,

Sounds basic, but did you try a different keyboard?
I have put together 3 systems based on P4PE so far - never seen this
problem.
Actually: one of the systems is used to type and send this message.

BTW: you're not plugging this keyboard to the powered up system? cause if
you did, slight chances are you've damaged the keyboard port. Remember
only USB and FireWire are hot-pluggable.

I have since tried 4 other PS/2 keyboards. They all lock up in the BIOS
boot up
with a "Keyboard error or no keyboard found", so there is really no choice
but to
shut the computer down. I have subsequently also tried a PS/2 mouse, and
that does
not register either.

My question is basically: Is this motherboard or BIOS related? Then I can
determine
who to complain to about the matter.

See above

If you ever tried a "hot swap" on the PS2 port(s) you have probably
have fried the ports. A computer shop familiar with ASUS may be able
to fix it for you. I think is a fusable link vs. a "self-healing"
connection..
