p4p800 and cambridge soundworks...

John

I'm new to this motherboard and onboard sound.....I have a speaker setup (4
speakers and sub) that has two leads... a green front speaker plug and a
black rear speaker plug....unfortunately the asus p4p800 appears to only
have one line out? There is a pink mic, green line out? blue line in?
Anyway, I would like to get the speakers working.....Also, have a
soundblaster Live card.....if someone suggests I place that in a pci slot
can they also tell me how to turn off the sound on my motherboard? Any,
any help would be appreciated and feel free, if you wish, to email me at

Thanks....

Look at page 5-24 of your motherboard manual for setting up onboard sound..
For 4 speakers, use the light blue plug for the rear speakers. Use the lime
(green) colored plug for the front speakers. Your sub is probably already
connected to your front speakers.

To use a sound card instead, go into the bios under "onboard devices
configuration" (in the advanced menu) and disable onboard audio. (see page
4-20 of the manual).

Does that help? Does anyone read their manual?
