P4C800-E Deluxe Bios save problem

Johan Laebens

When I change a setting in my Bios and I reboot, i can see that the
setting is not saved.
On top of this, the mobo finds during the every reboot a new CPU.

I've tried replacing the battery, the CMOS jumper, ... nothing seems
to work.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this??

NOTE: I've update the ASUS mobo version to 1015 (even 1016 and
1017beta doen't do the trick)

Is there an extra standoff under the motherboard ? You should only
put standoffs, where they line up with the plated holes in the
motherboard. If a standoff is placed where there is no matching
hole, the standoff can touch a copper track and upset the circuitry.

You could test this, by removing the motherboard from the case,
and testing it while the motherboard sits on a piece of
insulating cardboard. See if the BIOS settings are retained
while the board rests on the piece of cardboard.

Other than that, you may need to get the motherboard replaced under
warranty (RMA).
