Overclocked processor - how can I tell?

I have recently purchased a Demonite OverX 3200 PC which includes an Athlon 2800+ processor which is supposed to be overclocked to the equivalent of a 3200+. However, when I go into my system specs, it says the processor is a 3000+. I'm not sure if this is what the processor is or what speed it is running at. Is there any way I can check that the processor has actually been overclocked?

You can go into your system BIOS and check the frequency there, or simply check out the system speed on bootup. Most BIOS's will list the speed as soon as you turn on your PC! :)

These three freebies will identify which CPU you’re using and at what speed it’s running:

SisSoftSandra 2004 Will supply lots of other info as well.

Motherboard Monitor Shows CPU speed, temps & voltages.

WCPUID Gives CPU Information.

Motherboard Monitor takes a little setting up, but is worth it, it’s a good programme.
