Outlook XP goes to 99% CPU UTil when closed and never drops

Clean install of OfficeXP, when Outlook is open, it's fine. When she exits,
it immediately ramps up to 99% CPU utilization and never drops. You can kill
it from within task manager and all is fine, but the ext time you open and
exit, it does it again.

Any thoughts or any way to log or dig deeper to find resolution? This is
connected to an Exchange 2000 server, so no local .pst file, and the OS is a
clean install of XP Pro SP2.

After reviewing the case log, I understand this issue is as follow:

--When you close Outlook, it will hang.

--You use the Outlook 2002 and Windows XP.

Based on my research, this issue might be caused by many possibilities,
let's perform the following steps to narrow down this issue. Your patience
and cooperation will be appreciated.

Step 1: Starting Outlook in safe mode
=======================
Safe Mode will disable all add-ins and extensions that will not start, as
well as any corrupted resources, files, registries and templates.

1. Start Outlook, click Tools -> Options, and then select the Other tab.

2. Click the Advanced Options button, and then click COM Add-Ins, and
uncheck all add-ins.

3. Click OK until the Options dialog box is closed, then close Outlook.

4. Click Start menu-> Run, type "Outlook /Safe" (without the quotation
marks and there is a space between Outlook and /Safe) in the Open box and
press Enter.

If issue still persists in safe mode, please perform the next step.

Step 2: Creating a new profile
====================
Since this issue may be caused by the corrupted profile, please use the
following method to create a new profile to perform a test:

1. Close Outlook.

2. Click Start menu-> Control Panel. If Control Panel is not in Classic
View, click Switch to Classic View, and then double-click the Mail icon.

3. Click Show Profiles and then click Add. In the New Profile dialog box,
type a descriptive name for the new profile in the Profile Name box, and
then click OK.

4. On the pop-up "E-mail Accounts", choose "add a new e-mail account",
click next.

5. Choose the type of your account, click next.

6. Input the corresponding info of the mail account, click Next, click
Finsh.

7. On the "Mail" box, click the "Prompt for a profile to be used" option
and click OK. This way, you will be prompted for a profile when starting
Outlook.

Start Outlook with the new profile to test the issue again. Is the issue
resolved?

a) When the message appears in the window, press PrScrn (the key right of
F12).
b) Click start menu->all programs->accessories->paint.
c) Press Ctrl+V to paste the screen shot into the paint, and save the
picture in
GIF file type.

/Safe has no effect on the problem. Same symptom.

When I log in to a different mailbox/different profile, the problem does
indeed go away. But if I connect to her mailbox from my pc, the problem is
not exhibited, though I run Outlook 2003 on mine.

So it appears it is her mailbox. Which is not surprising, as she keeps
everything. What is my next step, though, in determining the exact problem
and my steps to resolve it?

If this issue does not occur when you access her mailbox from your client,
then this issue might be related to her client side. since this issue does
not occur on other profile, I am afraid this issue is related to her
current profile or the OST file. To solve this issue, I suggest you create
a new profile for her on her machine and keep this new created profile as
her default profile. Since she use the Exchange account, she just need to
synchronize everyting from the server to restore her data on the client.

you have further concerns about this issue, please feel free to let me
