Outlook will not leave messages on server

I go tools -> options -> mail setup -> send/recieve -> Edit (All Accounts) ->
Account Properties -> Advanced.

I check the box to "leave a copy of messages on server." If I go back and
check in a few minutes, it is still selected. But then later it gets
unchecked somehow. I'm not sure if it is getting reset on send/receive or
upon exiting outlook or what, only that it is getting reset somehow.

I like to keep a copy on the server, so that I can get it via webmail, or
download it on my home pc.

If this were happening to me, I'd start with a new mail profile.
