Outlook took over and kicked out OE

lost my hard drive... had it all backed up on an external so i have all my
files but now im chasing around ghosts and tweaking my settings...

i like Outlook Express for my email and non-binary newsgroups... i installed
Office and forgot to uncheck the installation of Outlook... Outlook took
over as my email program... i uninstalled Outlook but now i cant make OE my
default email program...

this is what i have tried...

Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Programs tab... in the pull down next
to the EMAIL option, only Outlook is listed... i found OE and when i double
click it my email opens no problem... BUT if i try to click on an email link
(like (e-mail address removed)) my computer cant figure out to open a new message using
OE...

chasing ghosts.... does anyone have any thoughts on why OE isn't listed as a
default email program??

See if this help you, download the following file to desktop.

http://www.lprf.ca/files/OutlookExpress.reg

Double-click the file to import into the registry. If you wish to view the
contents of the file before importing, simply right-click the file and
select Edit. The Registration file will add Outlook Express as an option for
Email Programs in the Internet Options and set OE as the default email
program.
