Outlook To...

In New Message>To...>Select Names dialogue box, my contacts are listed by
first name alphabetical order. Is there a way to list those by last name
alphabetical order? (My Contacts folder is listed by last name alphabetical
order.)

Thanks!

By default names are sorted by "first name, last name". If you want to
change this to "last name, first name" do the following;

Go to Control Panel-> Mail-> E-mail Accounts-> View or change existing
directories or address books-> select Outlook Address Book-> Change.

At the bottom you can set the way the names are sorted.

What version of Outlook are you using, and if 98 or 2000, what mail support
mode? If you're not sure, look at the second line of Help | About Microsoft
Outlook -- it should say "Internet Mail Only" or "Corporate/Workgroup".
(Outlook 97, 2002, and 2003 don't have separate modes.)

MS outlook 2003.

FYI. I tried Roberts suggestion and it didn't seem to work.

Thank you in advance!

Correction... After a re-start Robert's suggestion did indeed work. Thanks
Robert. Another question in same dialogue box ("Select Names"). Is there a
way to "not" show the Business Fax as a separate name. Most of my names are
shown twice, once for e-mail and once for (Business Fax).

Thanks again!

This is the default behavior for Outlook 2002 and 2003. See the following
page for more information and a possible workaround:
