Outlook Outlook Signature Problem - table borders

Windows 7, MS Outlook 2003

I have created a new email signature (HTML format) which contains a table to control the layout. The table has no visible borders however when people reply to my emails the signature in their reply shows with black lined borders on the table and looks terrible. In case of relevance the table contains a GIF logo.

Any ideas what the problem may be or how I can sort it out?
