Outlook PST File lost -- Help, Please!

Greetings!
I recently had to reinstall WinXP Pro. Before I did that I back things
up, including my .pst files. I've done this before and it has worked
beautifully. This time, though, I reinstalled Outlook 2003 and went to
open my saved .pst file. Only then did I discover that Outlook refused
to recognize the file as a .pst file and that somewhere along the line
the saved file had been given this extension: NK2. I thought that I'd
saved the data appropriately because, as I said, I'd done this before.
Now, though, it seems that I've lost all of my data. I also tried to
save a copy of this defective file with the .pst extension instead of
the .NK2 extension with no success. I would appreciate any help that
you can give to me to fix this.
Thanks,
JTK

The nk2 file is the wrong file. That one is a cache for previously used
addresses. If you didn't backup the pst-file you're out of luck.
