Russ, Thanks for your additional help. I'm pursuing your ideas. Right
now
I'm doing a backup of the file just in case. Can I do scandisk in XP Pro.
It suggests I use "Recover" of file. Chkdsk did find a problem to fix on
C:.
I'd rather try to address the file directly if possible due to experiences
I've had with Chkdsk previously which just deleted files in fixing the C:
disk problem.
I'll go to your "officerecovery" as next step if no luck.

Try alternating the Inbox Repair Tool with a scandisk operation. If that
fails to repair the PST file, you can use the following tool to find out
what can be fixed:

Russ, Thanks for informing me the file name of Inbox Repair Tool. I'd
checked XPMC & Outlook help which pointed to it. I couldn't find it
with
searching Outlook or C: where all is located. I'll suggest MS make
the
Help
page show a link to the file or at least provide the file name.
I've got it running right now. Will see what is the outcome.

Use the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe), not Detect and Repair.
Detect
and
Repair does nothing to your PST file.

Due to some reason probably bad closing Outlook won't open
personal
folders
of outlook.pst. Receive an error message saying must create new
personal
folders or open existing. It doesn't open existing outlook.pst.
Is there any way to repair outlook.pst? Ran detect & repair three
times
with no luck.
