Outlook lags when I'm typing.

When I'm typing messages, I can't see what I'm typing unless I stop and wait.
I've watched what it's doing in the task manager and when I'm typing Outlook
takes up 50 percent of the CPU.

I don't have this problem in any other program. This just started yesterday
and it is extremely annoying not being able to see what you're typing "real
time". I can usually figure out most problems but this one has me stumped.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I had a similar lag problem, although mine did not show such heavy burden on
the CPU. My problem disappeared when I manually uninstalled all older
versions of Office, then reinstall the new 2007. Not sure if it'll work for
you, but...

Sorry, but I forgot to mention that I was using Outlook 2003. I have noticed
something else since the first post. It only happens with messages that are
in HTML. I read somewhere else that it has something to do with the security
settings. I looked at the security settings, did not change them, closed out
the window, and it stopped lagging. The next day the lag returned. : (

Thanks for your input,

Has anyone found a solution for this problem? This is happening to me as
well. It is truly annoying.

It has everything to do with the number of Internet Explorer's Restricted
sites. Check for the number. You may wish to clear them out. If you have a
program like IE-Spyad you probably have tens of thousands that have to be
searched.

I've had the same problem for 3 weeks on several of my machines. I finally determined yesterday that it was caused by a setting in an Anti-Spyware program I have installed on my machines called "SpywareBlaster".

In SpywareBlaster click on "Restricted Sites" and then uncheck the option "Restrict the actions of ad/tracking/potentially unwanted sites in Internet Explorer."

I have that ticked and no problems with OL2000. I did have that problem
and it was a virus that hit HTML. I reinstalled Windows and the problem
disappeared.
