I'm new to the forum. Hope I'm in the right area.

I had a junk folder in Outlook and must have accidentally deleted it.

I have searched all over the internet for how to create a new junk folder
or get the old one back. I already deleted by deleted items folder so can't
look there.

My worry is that since Outlook had been sending important emails to the
junk folder before, it is probably sending them to a place I can never get
them back. Any info on where they might be going would be helpful...and
how to retrieve them.

Also would like to know if possibly deleting the junk folder was a good
thing if now Outlook has no place to send them and are they now
appearing in my inbox like I wanted all along?

I really need peace of mind about this so people don't think I am not
replying to their emails.

Thanks.so much for your help.

I don't know if you'll be able to get your old items back, as the junk folder store file is the same one as your inbox (meaning something like http://www.recuva.com/ probably wouldn't work). There are outlook data recovery tools which may work for you if you want to get some of the lost e-mails back, but it will probably cost a bit.

According to this page (http://office.microsoft.com/assistance/hfws.aspx?AssetID=HP010031101033) you can reset the folder location and names by running Outlook with some switches:

i.e. : "Outlook.exe /resetfolders /resetfoldernames"

To re-create it, you may

Have you thought about another e-mail provider ?? GoogleMail is very good, and you can access your e-mails from any pc anywhere.

Outlook Another Question

Thanks everyone for your tips.

Ian, since you said the junk folder is the same as my inbox....if at this
point I do nothing, will ALL of my mail be delivered to my inbox?

I am more concerned about future emails and have accepted that
I probably lost the old ones.

I do use gmail but also need Outlook.

Yes, I think they should all end up in the Inbox now :) You can disable junk mail filtering and that will make sure that all e-mails end up there.
