I just learned about the Journal. I would like for it to go back to 1/1/06
and record activities in the area of emails and appointments. Us this
possible?

As well, can the journal record all my activities rather then just those for
certain contacts?

You would have to create those journal entries manually.

certain contacts?

The Activities page on a contact already does that by searching your folders for related items.
