Outlook has dissappeared

I'm runnng windows xp (home ed) I installed Plaxo about three months ago. I have recently hooked up to Shaw adsl and have a new email address. I was working on an FTP site uploading files when I got a dialog box asking me to enter my new email address for Plaxo and after doing that my old Outlook is gone, disappeared. I can't access it from the desk top alias or the program launch icon in the "all Programs" list. In place of the old Outlook frame is a new looking frame with only Plaxo mail in the inbox. I can't access any of my archived or other email accumulation. I went to my connections folder and there is no indication I am conneced to adsl. What happened and can I get my valuable old Outlook folder back? How?

Try going to internet options..programs tab and set Outlook as you default
e-mail program.
