Outlook hangs on start

Hello everyone -

I am running Outlook 2007 32-bit, fully patched, on Vista 64-bit SP1. It ran
great for a while, and then it started hanging on startup. It hangs when I
try to go into ol's safe mode, also. I tried repairing, a new pst, disabling
anti-virus and firewall, and disabling other services. The KB doesn't seem
to have anything useful. Anyone got a clue?

Thanks,

Bruce D

Uninstall your AV, and if that doesnt help, Create a new Profile, with new
data file and set up the accounts, test accounts, set to prompt for Profile;
any better?
If no go; time to run memory tests, www.memtest.org and your HD
manufacturers test utility

Thanks for the advice, DL. One question for you: How do I create a new
profile? There's no Mail icon in Control Panel.

Thanks again.

In addition to DL's suggestions, try deleting the (usually hidden) file
%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook\outcmd.dat
