Bring along the .wab file, which contains your old contacts (address list).
Copy the files to a directory on the hard drive of your new computer,
then make sure these copies are read-write instead of readonly before
you tell Windows Mail to import them.

If Windows Mail doesn't import your old contacts, start Windows Mail,
then click Tools, then Windows Contacts, then Import, then Windows
Address Book File (Outlook Express contacts), then Import, then find
the .wab file and click on it, then Close, then close the Contacts window.

I think we have had this question before. Here is answer. On old machine, in Outlook, EXPORT messages to disk or flash drive (you will want to also, separately, export the address book and the mail account settings). Go to new machine. Copy files to a findable handy folder somewhere. Then in WinMail, File, IMPORT. Just keep going thru the prompts until it offers you the option to browse to find the file location. It will import all of your old folders and messages to a new subfolder in Windows Mail. You can either leave them there, OR MOVE them all to the corresponding folder in WinMail and then delete the subfolders. Importing the mail accounts is found under TOOL>ACCOUNTS>IMPORT. Good idea to keep a copy of these account settings and the address book in separate fold for just-in-chase. Address book has it's own IMPORT option.

No trees were harmed in the sending of this message and a very large number of electrons were asked their permission to be terribly inconvenienced. And a party was thrown for them afterwards for being really cool about it.
