Outlook Express still adds a .ppt suffix.

Thanks Michael for your reply, but when I save the PPoint file, it saves as a
..pps
The file suffix shows as .pps.ppt when it's ready to be sent.

Then when I try to e-mail it, Outlook Express DOES add a .ppt to the .pps
The result is that when the recipient on the other end gets the file, it
opens in the Power Point program in the edit mode instead of just a full
screen presentation. Both the sender (me) and the recipient have the entire
Power Point program and not just a viewer.

When I get presentations from other people (e-mail), they open as they
should in full screen mode with no additional program tagging along behind
them. The also show only a .pps suffix. It appears as though only those I
create are subject to this perplexing problem. Somewhere, some how, I'm
obviously doing something wrong,.... or, there's a glitch in my PP program.

Solution?

Try not to start a new thread with your reply.

Before you attach your file to your email, In Windows Explorer, right click
the file and select rename. If the file already has a .pps.ppt extension,
remove the .ppt then attach your presentation. If the double extension is
there, I would recommend you do a detect and repair on your PowerPoint
program, also ensure that you have all the updates installed. Like I said
earlier Outlook Express does not add extensions to attachments.

Also see Steve's response to your original post.
