outlook express ove quota

When anyone sends me an email they get an over quota error message and the
mail doesn't go through. I have deleted almost everything-Is there anyway
there is anything hidden that I am not seeing or does anyone have any other
ideas. The odd thing is I am not getting the 'you are over quota ' message
that I have goten in the past when I was ove quota, only the people that are
trying to send me emails. Help!!!

The over-quota message they are getting is coming from your email
server. Most people use their ISP's email server. The message means the
space your ISP has allocated on their server for your mailbox is full.
Perhaps you have your Outlook Express set to leave messages on the
server and your mailbox is full. In any case, go to your ISP's webmail
and delete some messages in your Inbox or call your ISP and ask them to
help you. This isn't local to your computer.

Stop using your mailbox as a junk collection of old mails. You get
only so much disk space for your mailbox and you've used it up because
you leave mails in it. Yank the e-mails and have the e-mail client
delete them after yanking them (the default setup). Or use the
webmail interface to clean out the old mails that are eating up your
disk quota.

Senders cannot get new mails delivered to your mailbox because you
left it piled up with old mails that consume all your disk quota.

Contact your ISP, perhaps their server did not really delete
the old email.

What email program are you using, http web, pop3, imap?

Including web mail access?
If that is the case contact your ISP as the problem is at their end

Not on your computer. You need to empty them at the mail server. This is
usually done from web access. If you actually went to your webmail and
did this, call your ISP.

Again, just to be completely clear - the problem is not on your computer.

That could have meant that you emptied your Inbox folder in OE, not
that you logged on using the webmail interface to your account and
making sure to empty out your Inbox there. If OE has already
downloaded a message but you configured OE to leave it on the mail
server then those messages are still on the mail server. Just because
OE's Inbox is empty doesn't mean the mailbox (on the mail server) is
empty.

It is also possible that other folders (only up on the mail server)
have items in them that count against your disk quota. When using
their webmail interface, check the bulk/junk folder, trash, and other
folders to make sure they aren't sucking up all your disk quota. For
some providers, items in the Trash folder may not count against your
disk quota but you will need to check with them if that is true or not
for their e-mail service. Spam e-mails moved into a junk/bulk folder
might or might not count against your disk quota. You'll need to go
use their webmail interface to check.
