Outlook Express - Messages hang in Outbox

Using Outlook Express 6. When I send to an address that happens to be
incorrect it causes all subsequent messages to be held in the Outbox. Is
there some type of flag that can be set to allow all messages to be sent like
Outlook and I just receive a notification that the address was unknown or
incorrect?

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
