Outlook Express links opening in Mozilla

Hello All,

I downloaded Mozilla Firefox because a friend of mine is continually harping
on me to try it. Needless to say I will stay with Internet Explorer, but at
least now I can tell him that I tried it and I did not like it. The problem
is that now when I am in Outlook Express and I click on a link in a message
it is opened within Mozilla Firefox, not Internet Explorer. I checked in
Internet Options and the "Have Internet Explorer check to see if it is the
default browser" is checked and that is not happening, so I am I right to
assume Internet Explorer is the default browser? I also looked in the Outlook
Express options and could not find anything that applied. Can someone please
help me get rid of Mozilla?

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs

Open IE | Tools | Internet Options | Programs tab | make sure
"Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" is
CHECKED.
Press Ok, and when you next run IE, a confirmation
dialog box should appear asking you whether you want it to be the
default browser again. Click Yes.

And...

To reset Internet Explorer settings
If you installed another Web browser after installing Internet
Explorer and Internet Tools, some of your Internet Explorer settings
may have changed. You can reset your Internet Explorer settings to
their original defaults, including your home page and search pages,
and choice of default browser, without changing your other browser's
settings.
1.. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
2.. Click the Programs tab.
3.. Click the Reset Web Settings button.

Hello Wes,

I had already tried that without any success. Instead of driving myself
crazy with this I decided to uninstall the Mozilla Firefox browserI -- I
thought for sure this would solve the problem. Not so. Now when I click on a
link contained in a message in Outlook Express -- nothing happens. Before I
uninstalled Mozilla I searched through their Options page and I did not see
anything remotely related to this problem (but because I am unfamiliar with
Mozilla I may be overlooking something obvious. I would greatly appreciate
any help with this.

Hello Wes,

I performed all the steps in the Microsoft Article ID 823301 but I am still
unable to open any hyperlinks from within Outlook Express. Any more ideas?
Thanks.

Hello Wes,

I ran System Restore last night and it cleared up the problem. Thanks for
all your help.
