Outlook Express Blocking Images

K

Katie

Why does my mail block images with a red X placeholder? I
already have my settings cleared on the "Block Images and
Other External Content in HTML E-mail" and my security
setting is on "less restrictive" but I get emails with
images in them and they are always the red X.

Andre Da Costa [Extended64] explained on 2005-08-18 :
In OE, go to Tools > Security (Tab), under "Downloaded Images" ensure that
"Blocked images and otherexternal content in HTML e-mail." is not checked.

Well, it should be blocked........... ;)

Or switch to Mozilla Thunderbird which has a direct "button" for
this to show images if a user decide it is safe.

OE is really out of order these days....... ;) again.

I have already done that and it is not checked but more
often than not the images and just a red X placeholder.

It doesn't happen with all of the mail but more often
than not it is just a red X placeholder.

Check the size of one of the messages where you can't see the picture.
While viewing the message press Ctrl-F3 and scroll down to see if the
picture is actually there.

check window update, i think there's at least 2 or 3
fixes for outlook express. check whether if it's going to
fix your issue.
