outlook email will not send word attachment however express does

Suddenly, I cannot send a word file attch with my email in Outlook. I can
send it from Express but Outlook is my default email and I have always been
able to send these attch previously. The message goes to the outbox and after
a few minutes it goes to the sent box, however the message and attch are not
being received by the addressees. I have always been able to do this
successfuly in the past. The Outlook icon used to be on the tool bar at the
bottom of the screen, it is now on the desktop. I'm not sure why.

Got a version number for that Outlook? What type of account?

If the message is being placed in your Sent Items folder, that's a pretty
reliable indication that your server accepted the message and it's not
Outlook's problem. Your server is failing to forward the message on to your
recipients.

The Outlook

now on the desktop. I'm not sure why.

Those two icons are completely unrelated. Was the taskbar icon in the Quick
Launch toolbar? If so, it's simple to add it back in.
