If this happened to me, I'd delete the Windows Live account from Outlook,
make sure the cache file is gone, and then recreate it.

Yes I know that would probably fix it. I've had so much trouble with the OL
Connector that i've already done that several times for other issues and I
just didn't feel like doing it again since it involves re-creating views etc
...

I figured it out though. I had copied a folder to the live account and it
didn't get copied correctly.. I removed it and it started d/l email again.
Where's the cache file you're talkling about?

I'm unable to reach support at all. The OL Connector is supposed to come
with free email support. The ActiveX tool that identifies the product ID
fails.. The manual entry of the product ID fails (using either the
OLConnector ID or the Retail Office Ultimate ID )... the whole process is a
dismal disaster that gets you nowhere...

It's in either %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Outlook (Vista) or
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook (XP),
probably.

Sorry. I can't help with that. I don't use the connector. My Windows Live
account works without it.

I'm seeing the exact same problem Bryan. I have been using Outlook
Connector for years and found it to be rock solid, however for the past
6 to 8 months since they came out with a version for unpaid accounts and
I believe changed the deltasync or something on WLHotmail I have had
continual problems with it. I'm currently receiving the exact same
error message as you and have ended up deleting the account and
recreating it numerous times over the past while to get it working again.

I reported the problem to MS just recently so I'll see if they come back
with any solutions. It seems like MS no longer offers a rock solid
email solution outside of Exchange as Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail,
Windows Live Hotmail and Outlook Connector all seem to have intermittent
and reliability problems. I recently moved my domains over to Google as
a result and I'm using Thunderbird with IMAP and so far not a single
problem. It is very disappointing as Outlook combined with Outlook
Connector was fantastic and reliable in the past but they seem to have
managed to mess it up.

Had the same problem, solution is simply:
never create folders in OL 2007 under your hotmail account, always go online
to create folders.
I did it and now everything just works fine.

You can drag your folders first to your local account, then delete the
folder you created under your hotmail account in OL 2007. Go online to
hotmail.com and create new folders.
The folders will then appear in your OL 2007. You can drag 'n drop the
messages from your local folder to the new hotmail folder and tataaa
everything back A O K

At least it did for me
;-)
