Outlook-Can't turn off "You've Got Mail" voice

E

EarlP

I am running Outlook 2003 on Windows XP-SP3. Whenever I start Outlook a
voice tells me "There Are 27 Unread Mails" (or whatever the number happens to
be) and when new emails arrive it says "You've got 3 mails" (again with the
number varying per no. of emails)

I have attempted to turn this off in Tools/Options/Email Options/Advanced
Email Options as well as changing the settings in the Control Panel/Sounds
settings but I can't get this voice to stop. It is very annoying. Can
anyone help?

Do you have a Toshiba? You should have a "Toshiba Voice" applet in Control
Panel that controls the voice.
