Where''s_my_7_hours_of_work_Word

Outlook lags, video takes up to 3 minutes to refresh (screen stays white).
Computer runs just fine when Outlook is not open, no malware or virus either.
When sending and receiving, it will not complete receive and cannot send 3
outbox emails. Error messages vary from cannot open pst to server TCP/IP
problems. The pst errors went away and now it's just TCP/IP problems. As it
receives 7 emails, it gets finished with about 4 of 7, sometimes 6 of 7, then
pops up with errors. Also, in the bottom left corner, I noticed it says
something like 6234 items 247 inbox. What's 6234? Could this be the problem?

Thx!

Precise error messages would be extremely helpful since the errors would of
course indicate exactly what the problem is.

The size of your mailbox is probably not the issue but if you move some
older items to a new folder it might be a little faster. 6234 should be the
# of items in your inbox, 247 of which are unread, although it could be
something else since I don't know your version.

Anyway... the problems you have are typical of virus scanners integrated
with outlook. Start outlook using the /safe switch and see if it works
better. You can try disabling the antivirus integration but its usually
better to uninstall your antivirus and reinstall using a custom option
without the email stuff installed.

See http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/switches.htm if you need help using
switches.

It's Outlook 2000. Now, no matter where I click, it's a few minutes of
waiting, then it'll usually have an error for not being able to access the
outlook(1).pst file. I'll try the safe switch.

Thanks
