Outlook backup

My computer crashed, and Outlook isn't starting up at all. It wants me to
reinstall and insert the Office CDs.

I'm afraid it will create a new file and wipe out my messages and contacts
and calendar. What should I back up first before I reinstall?

Will it find my messages or will I be able to reimport them?

How and where does Outlook 2003 (Windows) store these files?

Thanks,
Jane

Jane:
New install will not delete your file. If you are worried and want a backup
the default location is:
c:\docs&settings\username\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook
Do a copy / paste. Also...it is in a hidden folder so "unhide" folders.
Or do a search for: *.pst Again by default it is called Outlook.pst

To unhide folders open Windows Explorer for folder navigation and click on:
Tools/folder options/ View Tab / Check mark - Show hidden files
