Outlook auto pulldown from Hotmail Inbox

I have Outlook 2003 and Hotmail Plus. Why does one have to manually
send/receive then drag mail from Hotmail inbox to Outlook. Why not copy Yahoo
and other POP 3 mail features whereby the mail is automatically dropped into
Outlook's Inbox.

Hotmail is http mail and Outlook uses the .pst format for mail. The 2 are
incompatible. You need to drag/drop email from Hotmail to Outlook's file.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

Thanks Milly. I know this from Microsoft Knowledgebase etc but can't
understand why both applications, being Microsoft products, would not act
better together. I've been using Hotmail as my sole account for over 5 years
and I wish it would behave better with Outlook. Maybe you as a MVP would have
some connections.
