outlook archive

I am using MS Outlook 2003, I am getting message popup asking me do you want
to archive your old mails and I always say yes to it, thinking that if and
when I need to look for an old email, it should be in the archive file so I
can easily access it. Last week I was in need of an older mail, that I was
not able to see in my inbox or my personal folder, I thought i can check my
archive. I can see an Archive folder on my left panel of the outlook, when I
click on it there was nothing, in it, so I went to my C:\documents and
settings\my user folder\local settings\Application Data\Microsoft\outlook"
and I so the Archive’s. And I add did the same way I create the personal
folder in my outlook, click on data file, and select the archive’s, thinking
that will bring my archives on the left side of the outlook. Then I open
outlook, I can see the new archive folder but there is no mail under the
archive. So I wonder where is all that mail, it was saying archiving my old
mails, is there a way I can get my archived mail back? If so how can I get
it? I really appreciate your help.

Search your computer (and include hidden files) for files named .pst and you
should find the data file that is sizeable.

Then open it from within Outlook using File | Open | Outlook data file.
