Outlook 2007 shuts down when reading mail then Reading Pane is off

In Outlook 2007 with no plugin ins and all current updates when I am reading
and receiving new mail it will all of a sudden just shut down. No error
messages, etc. When I reopen Outlook the reading pane is off. I reopen the
reading pane and it works fine again for a few days or so and then it does it
again.
Any ideas? I do have the junk mail filter active and run AVG AntiVirus.

I would start by making sure you have all the Office and Window updates installed and then run a Detect and Repair on Outlook.
